Upgrades can boost the power of a piece and sometimes even its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the amount of random augmentations used.

Players can roll their equipment into three attributes: physical power, magic power and health. Upgrades to physical power increase damage from weapons and melee attack while upgrades to spell power increase the damage of mage attacks and ring. Health upgrades give the player an additional amount of health.

Three types of reroll tokens are available such as upgrade rare, legendary and rare. Each of these upgrades the item to a higher quality. To make them, you require a higher level reroll token. Upgrades require a standard item. Rare upgrades require items that are either exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.

Leveling

Leveling is an option that lets players increase the base stats of weapons armor, helms, and trinkets. It is accomplished by the combination of an item with upgrade components at the Upgrade Station, paying a fee in Happy Stars or Happy Tickets. The upgrade components will be used up and the item will be upgraded to a higher level. This process can be repeated until the highest level for an item is attained.

Items with upgraded base stats will display a blue icon in their slot. Contrary to enchantments upgrade components cannot be stacked against each other, and can only be added to one item at one time. Each upgrade component also requires an amount of items and a minimum level of equipment.

The Upgrade Station has two slots: the first is where players can put in an item to be upgraded, and the right slot shows a preview of what the equipment will appear like when it reaches its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow once the player has enough materials will start the upgrading process.

A piece of gear can be upgraded up to five times. Each upgrade, the base stats of an item will be increased by a small amount. The highest level for an item is 19.

When an item is at its maximum level and is no longer upgraded, it does not have the option of upgrading. Once a piece of equipment is upgraded to a certain track (e.g. Upgrades for the Veteran or Explorer track ) they will be discounted.

Upgrade components are a kind of equipment that can be put into armor, weapons trinkets and gathering tools to provide an additional bonus or effect when the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, looted, acquired through quests, or traded between players. Upgrade components can be changed by acquiring new ones. However, this can cause the old upgrade to be destroyed.

Requirements

Upgrades can be beneficial to certain items, but they are not because they boost stats. They are more valuable to players when they get an exact roll. A perfect-rolled 200/6 500 armor set piece, for instance is highly coveted by the melee PvP communities and can be worth as much as 20-50 times the value of an unupp'd counterpart.

The game will show you the requirements once you choose the upgrade component that is incorporated into the item. This includes the type of item (either Armor or Weapon) the level of the item, the upgrade Token required, and the amount of progress required to complete the upgrade.
